Abstract: The data from a large measurement program at VHF and UHF are carefully evaluated , summarized and compared with values predicted from models of radio propagation over irregular terrain. Particular problems of low antennas and the effects of vegetation are considered. Modifications in prediction models are suggested for particular application to sensor systems.
