Abstract:

Biological Effects of Nonionizing Electromagnetic Radiation is a publication researched and prepared by the Franklin Research Center, Science Information Services Organization, under contract with the U.S. Navy and administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

This digest is issued quarterly to provide current awareness information on biological effects and health implications of microwave and other radio frequency radiation.  The effects of electric and magnetic fields (static and alternating) and research on medical applications of these nonionizing electromagnetic radiations are also included.  Each issue contains abstracts of current English and foreign-language research literature, research summaries, news items and announcements and information on relevant meetings and conferences. Subject and author indices are provided for all literature abstracts to facilitate specific search and reference use.

Journal, books and conference proceedings from all over the world, together with materials from correspondants [sic] are used as sources for this publication.

The Digest was first issued in 1974 under the title “Biological Effect of Electromagnetic Radiation.” Since 1976 it has been published under the present title.
