Abstract: This volume presents three examples of the use of proposed Federal Standard 1033, "Digital Communication Performance Parameters," in specifying end-to-end telecommunication system performance. The examples illustrate, for the particular configurations assumed, the processes of defining user/system boundaries and interaction sequences; identifying communication functions and their associated outcomes; and calculating performance parameter values.
